When we got back into Texas it was like a different world from when we left. They had been getting rain about 4 times a week for 3 months and everything was so green. What was dusty western scrub brush was lush grassland. It was an AMAZING sight. It really was a stark difference from the extreme drought in southern California. Weatherford, Texas

We stayed on the west side of Dallas so that we could be nearer Laurel’s family.  On Thursday laurels dad flew into Ft Worth and came to see us at the park.  It was nice to let someone else see how we pack up and leave,  our process has improved so much since our frantic first days.
He rode in the RV with us for the hour drive through Ft Worth to Weatherford.  We checked into the park and went straight to meet the grandparents at Olive Garden.

Say what  you will about chain restaurants but at least you know what you’re getting.  You can’t beat the value of unlimited soup and salad.

The RV Park was new and clean.  We didn’t get a chance to use anything because we were constantly out meeting family...

Austin, Texas

Austin is one of those cities that everyone tells you that you will like before you get there and they’re probably not wrong. I say probably because it seems like everyone would love a city with a college town vibe, tons of live music, great beers, friendly people, clean rivers, low-ish prices. The only down side is that it’s in the middle of Texas!
