I’ve loved this Engenius ENS200 wifi bridge device that I got before the trip. It’s really helped me connect to far away WiFi repeaters and get a really solid connection on all our devices, some of which have terrible reception. The only problems with my setup have been that since I had the device in ‘bridge’ mode I had to physically connect my laptop, with static IP settings when I was setting it up at a new park. Which wasn’t really a problem, just annoying. There were some parks that it just wouldn’t work at, it seemed to connect but it wouldn’t get internet access. I assumed that it was some kind of routing or DNS issue, but I’m not a network engineer.
Because Laurel is gone right now I actually had some time last night to really work on it. I found a great article on another RV travel...Read More
I think this spot will be better than before since it’s about 100ft closer to the antenna. I’ll post updates if it craps out.Read More
I live at the Motel 6 Carson California.
It’s not a bad place, there are good people here. There’s a guy next door that seems to be breeding pit bulls. There’s a family living across the hall with 4 kids. On Saturday night it sounded like everybody her was having weird sex. but i was just holed us with my dog and my cat because I have no where else to go. This is probably cheaper that living in Northern Virginia?
I can’t let them come in the room because they might notice all the times that the dog peed on teh floro.
Free wifi that you can watch Youtube or Netflix with minimal buffering? That’s a win Motel 6.Read More
Looking back at all these pictures and places I realize that there really is a lot to do in the San Francisco area. We stayed here for almost 2 months, I had a two week trip back to Virginia and we spent Christmas in Tahoe. But this was home for most of that time. The cost of living is very high here, but it may be worth it with all the activities and events to go to. We have been doing a post for every city we stayed in, but this is really stretching that concept to the max. I’ll try to remember all the places that we visited, it was a blast!Read More
